Services

The Order of the Knights of Rizal provide various services to the community.  These include providing scholarships to deserving Filipino-American students; counseling services to new Filipino immigrants; social services to senior citizens and others in the community; Rizal Studies; and various annual programs and events that commemorate Dr. Jose P. Rizal and bring the community together.

The KR is a civic, patriotic, non-profit, non-sectarian, non-partisan charitable organization.

  • Filipino-American Scholarship Grant

    The Order of the Knights of Rizal of Greater Jacksonville offer up to $1,000.00 in scholarship grants annually to deserving undergraduate college students.  The deadline for the 2009 scholarship application has been extended to November 15, 2009

    GENERAL SCHOLARSHIP CRITERIA

    • Must be enrolled at an accredited college/university in the fall of 2009 taking a minimum of six (6) credit hours as an undergraduate student..
    • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Legal Alien with minimum Grade Point Average of 2.5.  Transcripts must be submitted to verify GPA.  Freshman may submit High School transcript to satisfy the GPA requirements.
    • Must be a permanent resident of the following FL Counties:  Clay, Duval, Nassau, St. Johns and a member of the Filipino-American community (subject to verification)
    • Submit a letter addressed to the Commander, Knights of Rizal, indicating why you would want the scholarship.
    • Submit minimum of two (2) letters of recommendation, preferably from teachers/instructors, advisors or employer.
    • Submit a resume highlighting high school/college involvement/leadership, community service experience and awards/honors.  Activities and community service within the Filipino-American community is a plus.
    • The scholarship is open to all current undergraduate college students who meet the minimum criteria.

  • Filipino-American Cultural Center

    The KR currently are constructing a Filipino American Cultural Center located in Middleburg, FL along Branan Field Rd.  Once completed, this center will be a gathering place for the various Filipino American organizations and members of the community to use for events, programs, meetings, and to provide social services to those in need.  Please stay tuned for updates on the construction progress.
